Beauty Worth Preserving

Stalra Marz Gives Back

I believe beauty is more than what we wear or how we look. Beauty is how we feel. And how we feel is intimately connected to how we treat the world around us.

My work is rooted in a deep appreciation for the natural world, the beauty of the old and the ancient, and the importance of preserving what cannot easily be replaced. I have always found beauty in the ancient forests that have stood for centuries, the historic homes that hold generations of stories, and the natural treasures of the earth that inspire the jewelry I create.

The give-back program at Starla Marz Designs focuses on two areas that are near and dear to my heart:

  • The preservation of old-growth forests in Southern Appalachia.
  • The historical preservation of old homes in Southern Appalachia.

From the redwoods of Northern California to the mystical Appalachian Mountains, I have always felt a deep connection to old-growth forests. Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of living deep in the woods. In 2023, I finally made that dream a reality when I moved from Central Texas to the mountains of Western North Carolina. It is here, surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature, that I find some of my greatest inspiration, wisdom, and healing.

I have also always been passionate about preserving historic homes. I grew up in a restored farmhouse in the Midwest, and ever since I was young, I have been inspired by the idea of making the old new again. To me, these homes are tangible connections to our past, holding the craftsmanship, character, and stories that are so difficult to find in modern structures. Restoring them allows us to preserve their beauty while giving them new life for generations to come.

Just as each gemstone carries its own unique character and history, our forests and historic homes hold stories, wisdom, and beauty worth protecting.

I donate 10% of profits to these two causes, extending my love and appreciation for beauty beyond the jewelry itself and helping preserve the places and legacies that make our world richer.

Because true beauty isn't something to be taken for granted. It's something we must protect.
